Ashley Lucas Art
Ashley Regina Lucas has been creating art on products since she was just a wee little girl. One of her earliest memories of art and entrepreneurship is splashing paint on cardboard, cutting out tiny triangles, and turning them into earrings to sell alongside lemonade at age six. She’ll never forget the thrill of watching a fashionable woman pull over to buy a pair with her chilled drink.
As an elementary school student, Ashley loved sculpting tiny dollhouse‑sized foods and beads from polymer clay to sell in her parents’ gift shop in Lancaster, PA. Growing up in the family business fostered a deep appreciation for small shops, handmade goods, and the heart of entrepreneurship.
After following a decade‑long dream to live in New York City, Ashley earned her BFA from New York University. She went on to collaborate with a variety of beloved brands, creating artwork and content for Williamson Home Licensing, the OOLY blog, DecoArt Paints, Parents Magazine, Canopy Hilton, The Taunton Press, and more. Career highlights include a pop‑up shop at West Elm Hoboken, winning a Spring House Brewing beer‑can design contest, and contributing artwork to nonprofit projects supporting coastal wildlife along the Jersey Shore.
Ashley describes her artistic style as #MitHeart — meaning “with heart” — a phrase inspired by her husband’s Austrian heritage blended with her own American upbringing. The two years she lived abroad with him became one of the most defining periods of her life as an artist.
Her creative vision has taken many forms over the years — The Lady Lucas Art Company, Baby Lucas Kids Decor, Linzer Lane, and most recently Sook & Hook, her coastal décor and sea glass arts brand. The birth of her son in 2018 has been a constant source of inspiration and has shaped nearly every project she has created since.
Ashley’s first traditionally published children’s book, Mermaid Candy: A Sea Glass Adventure, will be released by Schiffer Kids in spring 2026. She is beyond thrilled to share this moving story about one of her most beloved subjects with the world.
