The concept of Sook & Hook began in 2022 with a single snowman artwork made from a few pieces of clear sea glass on Ashley’s kitchen table, shortly after friends and neighbors in Belmar, NJ introduced her to sea‑glass collecting.

A serendipitous beach walk—where the sea seemed to place glass at her feet each time she asked for direction—sparked the idea to build a brand around the holiday sea‑glass art she loved creating.

Ashley wanted something fun, light, and memorable, so she named the brand after the two mischievous squirrels that bounded through her family’s garden. Her young son couldn’t say “squirrel,” so he called them “Sook” and “Hook.”

Since then, Sook & Hook sea glass art has appeared in over 40 retail stores nationwide, been featured with Michael’s during their MakersPlace events, and even graced the cover of a local magazine.
