Wispy Whimsical Pumpkin DIY
Share

I've been noticing these cute 'yarn pumpkins' all over social media this fall and couldn't wait to try my own the other night! I tried wrangling my six-year-old son into making them with me - but he opted to throw yarn balls into the air while I crafted - so unfortunately, I have no cute mother / son pics to share ;)

I was inspired to try these pumpkins after scoping out one of my favorite German magazines called LandIDEE.
I also saw a great video tutorial by stilundherz that you could try... her content is beautiful, and I highly recommend following her on social media.

For my own version, I simply used my hand to wrap different thicknesses of yarn - the same concept you could use to make a pom-pom.
After pulling the 'tunnel of yarn' off my hand, I secured it with a tied bit of yarn, then hot glued a little moss and a twig and added them to a piece of driftwood I've been saving.
Super thin yarn makes cute wispy looking pumpkins - while thick chunky yarn produces a more substantial gourd.
Now they have the perfect amount of 'coastal whimsy' while also displaying some charming European flair!

These wispy pumpkin cuties are so fun and easy! Let me know if you try them!
