How to Make Watercolor Paint Out of Geranium Petals
Share

One of my favorite magazines from Germany, 'LandIDEE', had an article inside of it that spoke about how to make watercolor paints out of natural materials. This article is what inspired me to try this beautiful idea!
To make your own paint out of geraniums you will need:
- Geranium Flowers
- Water
- Mortar & Pestle
- Mesh Fabric
- Glass Container
Mash geranium petals in your mortar and pestle with just a touch of water until it is blended almost like a paper pulp.
Next squeeze it through mesh fabric so that it's only liquid that passes into your glass container.
Place your 'paint' in the refrigerator for about a week.

My glass container had some leftover glitter - giving the paint even more personality!
I used just a regular brush on watercolor paper and had fun creating artwork and some hand lettering too.
Please let me know if you try this idea! I would love to see or hear about your results!
